I first became aware of this book about 7 or 8 months ago. Each time a voice inside me said I should buy it, but it just didn't seem to be the right time. Last week, at the Gem & Mineral Show I saw it again. This time I knew I wanted to buy it. Perhaps it was because the price was right or maybe it was because I was surrounded by so many beautiful gems.
This book is unlike any other gemstone book I have seen. Over 300 gems and minerals are included in this book. Each entry includes a photograph; a brief description of the scientific components; key words describing its special powers; the elements and chakras that it represents; and the detailed spiritual interpretations of Robert Simmons, Naisha Ahsian, and sometimes Hazel Raven, all experts in this field.
The link to this book is for the new edition published by North Atlantic Books in September 2007. My edition was published by Heaven and Earth Publishing in 2005. I haven't seen the new edition, however, after reading the description, the only difference I can see is that the new edition does not include contributions by Hazel Raven.
